Insite Strategies is a Queensland based planning consultancy with offices in Brisbane and Bundaberg. The two principals David Newby and John Coyle are well-known in Queensland planning circles and have been leaders within local government and the development industry since the early 1980’s.

Experienced in all facets of town planning, Insite Strategies strikes a balance between private sector development application work and local and state government plan-making.

Development Applications

Insite Strategies provides development planning services to private developer clients for the full range of projects from small lot subdivisions, heritage houses, residential apartment and attached housing projects, mixed use buildings, commercial and industrial buildings, central city and regional CBD proposals, and reconfiguring a lot applications.

We can be engaged at any stage to assist in concept development, commissioning and coordination of associated consultants, preparation of applications and impact studies, response to information requests, public notification, assessment of decision notices and conditions, negotiated decision notices, and expert witness services in the planning and environment court or mediation as required.

Master Planning

Insite Strategies has extensive expertise and experience in the approvals phase of major master planned projects.

Typical services provided include preparation of supporting documents and applications under s242 of SPA (s3.1.6 of IPA); Reconfiguring a Lot applications; coordination of other specialists including engineering, environmental, urban design and economic consultants; negotiating issues with state and local government agencies and in some instances political and media liaison.

Council and Government Planning

Insite Strategies has extensive experience and expertise in plan making at the local area, local government, and at the sub regional level. The company and its senior personnel have also provided a wide range of planning advice to government including development assessment services, land use capability studies, social impact assessment, industrial land studies, site optimisation studies, community consultation, staff training, and optimising DA systems within local authorities.

Town Planners

Principals John Coyle and David Newby each have over 30 years experience as town planners, with expertise in all facets of planning. They have been involved in, and managed some of the most significant planning projects in Qld. Both David and John take pride in adding value beyond client expectations and in a timely and cost effective way.
